Geographic expansionFrom a geographical viewpoint the company continues to focus mainly on the Benelux as its home market and the United Kingdom as its primary export market. In the UK we have started expanding a local company. France will follow during in the next phase. For the longer term, Ecodis expects a phased and systematic European expansion. The company also doesn’t exclude external growth opportunities. Holiday Inn at Schiphol Airport protects its hotel guests using Ecodis technologyOur customers are our best ambassadors. The new Holiday Inn hotel at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands is a good example. This hotel meets all the international traveller’s demands, including security. Indirectly, this also means the safety of drinking water. Holiday Inn relied on Ecodis to disinfect its water, a decision recommended by a consulting agency. Maurice Janssen, General Manager of Holiday Inn Schiphol, explains: Hans Kremer, Technical Director: Ecodis becomes European standard for industrial water disinfection.Ecodis has mounted a laboratory research project on the storage life of vegetables in collaboration with the University of Ghent. The results are remarkable: vegetables washed in Ecodis’ disinfected water remain fresh for an additional 24 hours. This is not an isolated case, the durable Ecodis technology is already being successfully applied to rinsing drink packaging e.g. Inza’s milk bottles and Nutricia’s tetrabricks. Other customers include Danone, Pluma (Ter Beke) and yeast company Bruggeman.
